Product Description
While Thermaltake is often regarded as the go-to brand for high-performance CPU cooling, the new Contac Series CPU coolers are targeted at price-conscious system builders where price and reliability come first. With the Direct-Touch Heat Transfer Technology, the Contac 16 Universal CPU Cooler greatly improves on the thermal transfer efficiency by enabling the heatpipes to make direct contact with the CPU. The heat from the CPU is quickly removed to the aluminum fins for cooling. Out of the box, the cooler includes one 92mm fan that can be mounted onto the heatsink without the use of any tool, thanks to the innovative clip-on mounting mechanism. Contac 16 also includes an additional set of mounting kit for a second 92mm fan which can greatly increases the thermal performance. Support CPU Thermal Design Power (TDP) up to 100W. Universal mounting support means you do not need to purchase new CPU cooler if switching CPU type: Intel LGA-1155/1156/775 & AMD FM1/AM3+/AM3/AM2+/AM2
- Direct-Touch Heat Transfer Technology - Dual 6mm heatpipes with direct contact to the CPU for maximum heat transfer efficiency
- Premium thermal grease provides higher thermal conductivity between CPU and cooler.
- Supports dual 92mm fan configuration - includes one 92mm fan
- Universal CPU mounting design to support all available CPU platforms from Intel and AMD: LGA775/1156/1155 & FM1/AM3+/AM3/AM2+ AM2

Bigger than I thought, but works well., Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Thermaltake Contac 16 Universal CPU Cooler Direct-Touch Heat Transfer 100W TDP with Dual 92mm Fans Dual 6mm Heatpipes CLP0598 (Personal Computers) It's well built and comes with a ton of mounting adapters. Using this to cool an AMD A6 3850 on an ASUS F1A75-V mobo mounted inside of an old full size Gigabyte tower with one 50mm fan on the inside bottom of the front face. The cooler must be installed prior to installing the mobo for this series CPU (FM1) due to the backplate design. This thing is much bigger than expected, but there is height clearance for mounting the fan facing the memory slots. However, I am using simple 1333 DDR3 Mushkin RAM and not fancy sticks with big heat spreaders - I don't know if the fan would clear those. The fan is only a 3-pin connector (no PWM feed). My motherboard has a 4-pin header, so it did not recognize the fan. It wasn't a big deal since I had another 92mm fan available to add to the cooler and that one has the correct connector. Basically, I'm using a push-pull config with 2 fans using the extra fan bracket included. That's another thing - this only comes... Read more |
